Father Leys was appointed to serve as St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church's Pastor, Priest and Teacher on March 1, 2020.

The attributes that best describe Father Leys are strong preaching, leadership development and teaching. He has expressed the desire to lead St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the Body of Christ.

Father Leys takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending the first hours of his day focused on Bible Study.

Trained at the United Theological College of the West Indies, Father Leys continues to focus on community building, evangelism and ecumenical outreach.

Father Leys will be Instituted and Inducted as Rector on March 5, 2023.

The Right Reverend Daniel Allotey

Bishop in Residence

The Rt. Rev. Daniel Allotey is the former Bishop of Cape Coast, Ghana, where he served for eleven years. The Diocese of Cape Coast is part of the Church of the Province of West Africa within the Anglican Communion. 

Bishop Allotey, in addition to being Assisting Bishop, is Bishop-in-Residence at St. Gabriel's, Brooklyn. He was previously the Interim Pastor at St. Augustine's, Brooklyn. 

Bishop Allotey has established healthy and fruitful links between The Diocese of Cape Coast  and the Diocese of Long Island through St. Augustine's (Brooklyn); Trinity Church Wall Street, and The Scottish Episcopal Diocese of Edinburgh. He also maintains existing strong links between The Diocese of Portsmouth and The United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in the U.K. 

Bishop Allotey went to Theological Seminary in Legon, Ghana and also attended The Federation of Selly Oak Colleges in Birmingham, England, and The University of Cape Coast, Ghana. 

He is the proud father of two daughters and a son and has one granddaughter.
